Week 1
Introduction — The Mind Is the Battlefield
Read the Introduction of Battlefield of the Mind. Key Scriptures: Romans 12:2; 2 Corinthians 10:3-5.
1.Meyer opens by sharing that she spent many years as a Christian but lived in mental and emotional torment because she didn't understand the battle taking place in her mind. Can you relate to that gap — loving God but still being controlled by negative or destructive thought patterns? Describe what that has looked like in your own experience.
2.The book's central verse is Romans 12:2 — 'Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.' In your own words, what do you think it means to 'renew' your mind? Is this something you have ever actively pursued, or has it been more passive for you?
3.Meyer argues that Satan's primary strategy is not to attack our circumstances first but to attack our thinking. Why do you think the mind is such an effective battlefield for the enemy? What makes our thoughts so vulnerable?
