1. Information We Collect

When you use StudyGuide Pro, we collect the following information:

  • Email address — your email is your account. We use it to send your Week 1 link, your guides, sign-in links, receipts, renewal reminders, and (unless you opt out) study emails.
  • Book title and author — to find or write the study guide you asked for.
  • Study details you choose to share — your first meeting date and group size, if you enter them, so we can date your reading plan.
  • Payment information — processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your card details. Stripe keeps a customer record (name, email, billing details, invoices) for your purchases and membership.
  • Membership records — your plan, renewal date, pause/cancel status, PDF downloads, and on-request books, so we can honor allowances and the money-back guarantee.
  • Consent records — when you start a membership we record the renewal terms you agreed to, the time, and your IP address, and keep that record for three years as automatic-renewal laws require.
  • Church name — only if you add it to a receipt.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Process payments, provide library access, and write the guides you request.
  • Send you your guides, sign-in links, receipts, and the renewal reminders we send before any charge.
  • Send study emails (weekly leader notes, reading plans, offers) — each one has a one-click unsubscribe link, and we send at most one such email a day.
  • Provide customer support if you contact us.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate StudyGuide Pro:

  • Stripe — for secure payment processing, memberships, invoices, and the customer portal. Stripe’s privacy policy governs how they handle your payment information.
  • Anthropic (Claude) — helps us write study guides for books that are not in the library yet. Book details are processed through Anthropic’s API.
  • Resend — for email delivery (guides, sign-in links, receipts, reminders, study emails).
  • PostHog — for product analytics, so we can see which pages and features are used. Analytics are keyed to your email once you sign in or buy.
  • Google Ads — for conversion tracking on advertising campaigns.
  • Vercel — for website hosting.

4. Data Retention

We keep your email address, purchases, and study guide data for as long as needed to provide access to what you bought or downloaded. Membership consent records are kept for three years after your membership ends. Sign-in links expire after 15 minutes and are single-use. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us; we keep only what the law requires us to keep (such as payment records).

5. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information. All data is transmitted over HTTPS, and payment processing is handled by Stripe, a PCI-DSS compliant payment processor.

6. Cookies & Analytics

We use a small number of cookies:

  • sgp_session — keeps you signed in for 30 days after you use a sign-in link or code. Signed and readable only by our server.
  • sgp_lead — remembers, for 90 days, that you have already unlocked Week 1 with your email so we don’t ask again.
  • discount_code — remembers, for 7 days, a first-year code you accepted so the pricing shows it.
  • Analytics and advertising — PostHog analytics and Google Ads conversion tracking may set cookies to measure which pages are used and whether a visit from an ad led to a purchase.

We do not use cookies to build personal profiles or sell your data.

6a. Email preferences

Every study or offer email we send has a one-click unsubscribe link at the bottom. Unsubscribing stops those emails immediately. We still send the emails your account needs — sign-in links, receipts, renewal reminders, payment problems, and guides you asked for — because you would not want to miss those.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction or deletion of your data.
  • Object to processing of your data.
