Week 1
Introduction — You Don't Have to Live in the Shadows
Read the Introduction and Preface of The Bondage Breaker. Key Scripture: John 8:31-32; 1 Peter 5:8.
1.Anderson opens by describing Christians who are genuinely saved but genuinely stuck — people living far below the freedom Christ promised. Have you ever felt that tension personally? What does it feel like to believe the right things and still feel trapped?
2.The book's central premise is that 'the battle is for your mind.' Before reading further, what did you previously think spiritual warfare looked like? How does Anderson's framing challenge or confirm that picture?
3.Anderson distinguishes between Christians who are fighting from victory (the position Christ has already secured) versus Christians who are fighting for victory (as if the outcome is uncertain). Why does this distinction matter, and how does it change how you approach your struggles?
