Week 1
Introduction — The Power Belongs to God
Read the Introduction of The Power of a Praying Wife. Key passages: Philippians 4:6–7; James 5:16.
1.Stormie is honest about the fact that her early marriage to Michael was genuinely painful — there were times she wanted out. What struck you about her willingness to share that? How does her vulnerability affect your trust in the advice she gives?
2.She draws a clear distinction between praying *for* your husband and praying *at* him (using prayer as a disguised way to tell God what is wrong with your husband). Have you ever caught yourself doing the latter? What does that kind of praying reveal about where your trust actually lies?
3.Stormie says that a wife's prayers for her husband are among the most effective prayers possible because of the unique spiritual connection in marriage. Does that idea encourage you or intimidate you? Why?
