Week 1
Introduction — The Resolution
Read the Introduction and The Resolution text in The Resolution for Men. Key passages: Joshua 24:15; Psalm 112:1-2.
1.The book opens by painting a picture of a generation of men who have drifted — absent fathers, passive husbands, spiritually disengaged men. How honestly does that portrait describe men you know, or even yourself at certain seasons of your life?
2.The Resolution itself is a formal, written covenant — not just a good intention. Why do you think the Kendricks chose the language and format of a resolution rather than, say, a set of goals or a to-do list? What does a signed covenant communicate that a casual commitment does not?
3.Read through the full text of The Resolution slowly. Which single line stops you in your tracks — either because it convicts you or because it inspires you? Share it with the group and explain why.
