2.Lamentations 3:19–24 shows the writer choosing to recall God's steadfast love in the middle of active grief: 'This I call to mind, and therefore I have hope.' What is the deliberate, cognitive act Bridges identifies here? How is it different from pretending pain doesn't exist?
3.Psalm 62:8 says 'Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him.' Bridges holds these two things together — pouring out our hearts honestly and trusting God at all times. How do they fit together without canceling each other out?
