What does this origin story suggest about the relationship between human creativity and divine inspiration? Have you ever experienced an unexpected moment of clarity about a spiritual truth?
2.When Bunyan showed his manuscript to friends, "some said, Let them live; some, Let them die; some said, JOHN, print it; others said, Not so." He printed it anyway. What gave him the courage to proceed despite divided opinion? Where in your own life do you need that kind of courage to act on what you believe God has given you?
3.Bunyan defends allegory and metaphor by pointing out that God himself used "types, shadows, and metaphors" in Scripture — calves, sheep, heifers, rams, birds, herbs, the blood of lambs.
