What is the difference between transformation and replacement of identity? How does the resurrection of Jesus (recognized by his disciples but also transformed) illustrate this?
2.At the Transfiguration, Moses and Elijah appeared and were immediately recognized (Matthew 17:3-4). Alcorn uses this as evidence that we will recognize one another in heaven — even people we never met in this life. How strong do you find this argument? What other passages does he draw on?
a.Paul writes that we will know "fully" in the next life as we are fully known (1 Corinthians 13:12). What does this suggest about knowledge and relationships in heaven?
b.Who is someone you look forward to meeting or reuniting with in heaven? What would you want to say or ask them?
