Perhaps no aspect of God's ways frustrates us more than His timing — the prayers that seem to go unanswered for years, the waiting that has no visible end. This chapter is Lysa's honest conversation with God about exactly that.

1.Lysa describes the particular pain of waiting — not just suffering, but suffering without resolution, without a clear timeline. What are you waiting for right now, and how long have you been waiting? What has that waiting done to your faith?

2.She wrestles honestly with the silence of God — the prayers that seem to disappear into the ceiling. Have you had seasons of feeling unheard by God? What did you do with that feeling?

3.Ecclesiastes 3:11 says God has "set eternity in the human heart" — we are wired to want things to make sense as a whole story, but we can only see small pieces. How does this truth help reframe the frustration of not understanding God's timing?

4.Isaiah 40:31 promises that those who wait on the Lord will "renew their strength" and "soar on wings like eagles." The word "wait" in Hebrew (qavah) means to twist or to hope — it implies an active, expectant posture, not passive resignation. What is the difference between waiting on God and simply waiting? How do you cultivate the active kind?

5.Lysa writes about the danger of "wasted waiting" — seasons where we are so focused on the unanswered prayer that we miss what God is doing in us during the wait. Looking back, can you identify a waiting season that was formative in ways you couldn't see at the time?
