Week 2: Chapter 1 — A Man and His God

1.Evans argues that God's original design in Genesis 1 — the mandate to have 'dominion' — is the starting point for understanding male identity and purpose. What does it mean that man was made in the 'image of God' and given dominion? What does that say about your dignity and your responsibility?

2.A kingdom man operates under God's authority before he operates over his domain. Evans is clear: authority flows downward from alignment. In what areas of your life are you trying to exercise authority or influence that you have not yet submitted to God's lordship?

3.Evans uses the illustration of an employee who takes orders from his supervisor because both answer to a larger authority. How does understanding yourself as God's 'employee' or 'representative' change the way you approach decisions at home, at work, and in your community?
