Discussion Questions
7 questions1.First Corinthians 2:16 makes the staggering claim that believers 'have the mind of Christ.' Meyer argues this is a possession we must choose to access — it is already given to us in the Spirit but must be practically appropriated through surrender and the Word. How does it feel to read that you have the mind of Christ? Does it feel like good news, a challenge, or both?
2.Philippians 2:5-8 describes how Jesus thought — He considered others' needs above His own, He didn't cling to privilege, He embraced humility and service. Meyer says the mind of Christ is fundamentally other-focused. Where in your daily thought life do you spend the most time thinking about yourself versus others?
3.Meyer describes the mind of Christ as peaceful, trusting, loving, obedient, and humble. Which of these qualities is most foreign to your current mental life? Which is most natural?
a.What would change in your relationships if you thought more like Christ in that one area?
b.What spiritual practice might help you cultivate that specific quality of thought?
