God, we need to be steadied. We confess that when rejection hits, our eyes move — off You and onto the pain, the person, the replay. We become shaken, and we act from that shakiness in ways that make things worse. Thank You that Psalm 16 tells us the path to not being shaken is simply keeping You in front of us. Teach us to make that shift faster. Steady us, not by removing the thing that is shaking us, but by becoming more real to us than it is. Amen.
