Week 11: The Letters — Paul's Epistles and General Letters (Romans–Jude)

1.Romans is often considered the most theologically comprehensive book in the New Testament. Cobble's recap walks readers through Paul's argument: all have sinned, all are justified by faith, all who are in Christ are free from condemnation. As you read Romans 8:1 — "There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus" — what does that word "no" feel like in the places where you struggle most with guilt or shame?

2.Romans 8:38–39 is one of the most sweeping declarations of security in all of Scripture — nothing "will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord." Paul lists things above and below, present and future, even "powers" and "principalities." What is on your personal list of things you fear might separate you from God's love — and how does Paul's declaration speak to those fears?

3.Hebrews is a careful argument that Jesus is greater than angels, greater than Moses, greater than the Levitical priesthood, and the fulfillment of everything the Old Testament pointed toward.
