Gracious God, we have spent these weeks looking at marriage — your idea, your institution, your image. Thank you for the clarity, the challenge, and the beauty of what you intend. We confess that we have not loved well — not our spouses, not the people we hope to marry, not the community you have placed us in. But you love us with a covenant love that does not depend on our performance, and that is the love that makes all other love possible. As we leave this study, let what we have learned move from our heads into our hands and our habits. Make our marriages — and our communities — small, imperfect, beautiful reflections of the love that will never end. In the name of Christ, the perfect bridegroom. Amen.
